MAY PAPER CRAFT CHALLENGE DAY 1: SPRING BUTTERFLIES

May 1, 2019

Welcome to a new month friends, and Day 1 of the May Paper Craft Challenge!

If you missed what this is all about, you can catch up HERE.

Basically, every day this month I’ll be sharing one paper craft project with you as a way to clean up and get rid of some leftover paper from previous projects.  In preparation, I have to say that this has been one of the best times I’ve had in the craft room! One reason is because it's been so satisfying to just make things without having to put in too much thought into them. When I work on some of these projects for this blog, I overthink them a lot, and I'm a big critic of my own work.  Does that ever happen to you? But with this challenge anything goes - big, small, quick, slow, easy, or not.  And, there's also a lot of great kid-friendly crafts to come, so keep that one in mind for when the little ones have their next crafternoon!

So without further adieu...

How about them fluttery butterflies? I used my craft punches for help today, but remember that scissors make a great substitute!

TOOLS & MATERIALS:

DIRECTIONS (FOR ONE BUTTERFLY):

Fold the paper over so that when you punch the shape, there is a fold in the middle.  Do this using both punches.  Attach the smaller one on top with the crafter's tape.

Wrap the pipe cleaner around the centre once and twist the top.  Cut off what you don't need, and that’s it!

Total project time: about 10 minutes for four butterflies.
