DIY PERLER BEAD MOM PENDANTS

April 28, 2017

I remember when my niece was just a small kid making these adorable designs with Perler beads and we (the adults) would help her with the part of using the iron to finish them off.  Then we'd wait for them to cool, and I remember thinking "wow, how cool is this?" Here we were all amazed by a simple kids craft project.  Oh yes, our whole family (the girls mainly) got into them.

This project is a throwback to those old times.  I created a couple of pendants for Mother's Day (a cute project for kids and adults I think!)

M for Mom:

X for kiss or love:

Simply, buy yourself some Perler beads.  They come as a kit complete with the board (or several boards) and iron paper.  All you need then is an iron (and a chain, which you can purchase from a craft store or jewellery store).

Place the beads on the board like so.  Place the iron paper over top, and iron evenly in a circular motion for about 12 - 15 seconds.  Do not peel the paper off until it cools (about two minutes).

Do you think mom will like it?
