WASHI TAPE EASTER EGG PICTURE FRAME

March 29, 2017

Did you expect a holiday to go by without one washi tape craft? I think not!

Spring is just the right time to bring in a little more colour, and this project does just that. Once I got going on making the Easter eggs, I really couldn't stop (and I stopped counting after 15!)  To make them, you need some colourful washi tape (I always like to throw in some with glitter as well), and a 2 inch oval punch (Recollections; at Michaels).

Using a sheet of white printer paper, cut pieces of tape and stick them alongside each other. Then simply punch out the egg shapes with the punch.

You can do lots with them at this point, but I decided to make a simple frame (great gift idea!), and use the rest to make a garland.  First, I trimmed a sheet of card stock paper to the size of the frame (in this case 5" x 7") using a paper trimmer.  After arranging the eggs to my liking, I stuck them on with glue runner, for a clean, non-sticky application.

For the garland, the eggs are simply adhered to the string with tape.

This simple project can be whipped up quickly, and is also a really fun craft for kids to keep busy.  Thank you for taking a look!
