WASHI TAPE BOOKMARKS

February 15, 2017

One of the "things" I wanted to do more of this year is read books.  I used to be the biggest book worm, but when I became a mom, there just wasn't enough hours in a day.  So far, I think I've done a pretty good job, with three books already down.  But, if there was anything else I was lacking, it's bookmarks!

Since I didn't have any bookmarks (and how many times did I forget where I left off), I used my trusty, colourful washi tape to make a few fun bookmarks.  This is also a fun kid's craft, or loot bag gift idea, teacher's gift - you get the idea.  Anyone could use a bookmark! And anyone can make them too.

To make them, first gather some card stock paper (I used the pinks and corals paper pad by Craft Smith found at Michaels - they have other ones online HERE).  The paper has a nice texture to it.  Then, use a paper trimmer to cut rectangles of 1 3/4 x 5 inches long.  That will become the size of your bookmarks.  You will also need:

TOOLS & MATERIALS:

I like to buy my washi tape from Michaels, Target, or Hobby Lobby, but also check out this list on Amazon.  They have an amazing selection of colours.

DIRECTIONS (FOR ONE BOOKMARK):

1.  Round the corners with the corner punch.

2.  Punch a hole for the ribbon.

3.  Apply washi tape in any random pattern you wish.

4.  Turn bookmark over and snip off the extra tape.

That's how easy it is!

Now I'll never lose my page again!
