CURRENT OBSESSION: MASON JAR INSPIRED CRAFTS

September 2, 2015

My husband is a sweet man.  While out shopping last week, he brought me home the EK Tools Large Glass Jar punch.  My obsession with the mason jar didn't begin yesterday.  It's been ongoing for years.  This punch was a definite need, and he made that happen!

Since last week I've been on a mason jar crafting adventure.  In this post, I'll show you what you can do with this punch, but the possibilities are endless!

Do you follow me on Instagram? If so, you already got a sneak peek at these adorable polka dot gift tags.

TOOLS & MATERIALS:

DIRECTIONS:

Punch out 4 jars.  Glue them to the gift tags.  I glued two jars slightly rotated left, and two jars slightly rotated right.  Then, feed jute twine through the tags.  You're done!

Easy peasy.  Now, to make this card, you will require a few more materials.

TOOLS & MATERIALS:

  • Envelope

  • Ruler

  • Card stock in blue, folded and trimmed if necessary

  • Paper trimmer

  • Card stock in white

  • Glue stick

  • Scrapbook paper in three complimentary patterns

  • Gold foil heart

DIRECTIONS:

Measure the length and width of the envelope, and trim the folded card stock (if necessary) to fit the envelope.  (Alternatively, you can purchase already made blank cards and envelopes in bulk from craft stores).

Trim the white card stock to fit inside the card (for the message) leaving about a 1/8th inch border all around.  Glue it down.

Punch out three mason jars, one in each pattern.  Glue the two jars on the opposite sides first.  Then, glue the third jar in the centre of those.  Finally, glue the gold foil heart in the centre of the centre mason jar.

I am selling both items separately in my shop.  Click here for the gift tags, and here to view more details on the card.

In the next post, I will show you how to make this mason jar bunting.  The task is easy, the project: so much fun!
