DIY GIFT CARD HOLDERS WITH BELLS ON
The holidays are a time for gift giving, and gift card giving. Even though I've always preferred to give a thoughtful gift over a gift card, sometimes it's inevitable. So the least I can do is package it in something pretty.
To recreate these DIY gift card holders, follow the directions below. They are easy to make and you can customize their look. I chose metallic golds for the holidays. Then I added little gold bells for a whimsical touch!
TOOLS & MATERIALS:
Card stock (min. 8" long)
DIRECTIONS (FOR ONE GIFT CARD HOLDER):
Trim card stock to 2 1/2 x 8", then score it at 2" and 5 3/4". Fold the lines, then insert the longer end into the punch to make a scalloped edging.
Use a craft's knife to cut two opposite 45 degree angle cuts to hold the gift card.
Insert a gift card.
Then at each end in the middle, punch a hole with the hand punch about 3/4" in.
Insert and affix the brads thru the holes.
Cut a long piece of string, and wrap both ends around the bottom brad once.
Wrap over the top brad, then tie two bells at the end of the string. Cut off the extra string.
Total project time: about 25 minutes for three gift card holders.
