MAY PAPER CRAFT CHALLENGE DAY 4: CUPCAKE FLOWER ART
April showers bring May flowers! And now that we're in May, here's a pretty flower art project that you don't want to miss. This will also make a cute gift for Mom. In fact, you can personalize it with a word or phrase, or by dropping a cute photo right in the centre of the flower.
I also designed the stem in my Silhouette program. If you don't have a Silhouette CAMEO, no sweat, the PDF template is also attached below so that you can trace the shape and cut it out.
TOOLS & MATERIALS:
One 8" x 8" card stock to act as a canvas
Green and yellow card stock
EK Tools 2-point flag punch (optional)
2" cupcake liners
Letter stickers (optional)
DIRECTIONS (FOR ONE):
Have your canvas in front of you. Make the sun using the larger circle punch and adhere it to the corner with the crafter's tape. With the flag punch, the tips make great "sun rays". Attach those too.
Flip a cupcake liner inside out. Pop inside a circle shape made with the 2" punch. Then add letters to it if you wish (or try my photo idea!)
Download this free SVG file of the stem (or use this PDF version to cut and trace it). Cut it on a green card stock. Adhere it to the canvas, then use the glue stick, which works better with the cupcake liner, to stick it to the top of the stem, completing the flower.
Total project time: about 15 minutes for one canvas.
