HOW TO MAKE PAPER POINSETTIA LEAVES (& FREE TEMPLATE)

It wasn't until a couple of years ago that I realized that I was calling it all wrong. The colourful part of the poinsettia is actually part of its leaves, did you know that?! I've always loved these plants though. In my mind, they are a quintessential part of the holiday season!

If you have a Silhouette CAMEO, then you can whip up these shapely leafy figures quite quickly. If you don't, do not worry because you can still do this project with the attached PDF below.

TOOLS & MATERIALS:

DIRECTIONS (FOR ONE POINSETTIA):

1. Download the free SVG file HERE. Place the card stock on the cutting mat and cut to the settings. (Alternately, use scissors to cut the shape found HERE and trace with a pencil.)

2. Score each leaf once down the centre, and fold slightly between your fingers.

3. Use the glue stick to attach the leaves together to form a star shape.

4. Hot glue three mini pom poms in the centre.

You can use these pretties to decorate a tree, gift, and so on. If you'd like to hang them, simply use a hole punch to make a hole at the top of one of the leaves, and feed some twine through.

I hope you enjoyed this project, friends. Are you a big fan of poinsettias too? Happy crafting!
