WHC BLOG: A LOOK BACK AT SOME FAVOURITE HOLIDAY PROJECTS
I am already in the gist of Christmas crafting, but before I get to sharing some of those projects here, I thought we'd have a look back at some of my favourite ideas from previous years.
As you know I'm a paper crafter through and through, but I also played with yarn, stencils, paint, and vinyl to bring you creative ideas for the home, gift ideas, and gift wrap. Some of my favourite projects included:
DIY COLOUR BLOCK PAPER MACHE ORNAMENTS:
What I like about these ornaments is that I went outside my usual palette of reds and golds. The colour blocking technique is also a lot of fun and easy to achieve. See how to make them HERE.
IKEA HACK: STENCILED HOLIDAY TRIVETS:
Cork trivets, so inexpensive from IKEA, made a great stenciling project for the kitchen (also doubling as a unique gift idea!) Learn what I used to make them HERE.
"HO HO HO" CHRISTMAS VINYL POTS & FREE CUT FILE:
Our dining room pot shelf offered the perfect opportunity for adding some removable vinyl to the pots and bringing in some fresh spruce. Get your free SVG file and instructions HERE.
DIY POM POM FESTIVE GARLAND:
The first room to get decked last year was my daughter's and I made her the pom pom garland (hanging from the mirror). I wanted something cozy and fluffy to hang and last through winter (in fact, it never came down!). Learn what I used and how to make yours HERE.
WASHI TAPE HOLIDAY TAGS OR PAPER ORNAMENTS:
I've shared numerous DIY tag ideas, but my favourite are these ones using Christmas washi tape for that pop of colour. Follow the tutorial in this link HERE.
HOSTESS GIFT: MIY HOLIDAY GIFT TAGS GIFT BAG:
For a hostess gift, I thought it would be fun to do something different. So I created the idea of giving a bag full of make-it-yourself gift tags using pre-cut tags in a variety of patterns, letters, and rhinestones. I think this idea would never get old! See sources in this post HERE.
HOLIDAY PRINTABLE LISTS & TIPS ON GETTING A HEAD START ON THE HOLIDAYS:
And lastly, although I shared this two years in a row, I still find my lists useful every season. I created ones for keeping track of my spending budget, craft ideas, baked items and expiry dates, tunes to DL, and more. Get your free lists plus some of my tips HERE.
I hope you enjoyed some of these projects, friends. For a complete list, search anytime under the tag "Christmas" or click HERE.
Have a great day!
