DIY SUMMER POM FRUITS (WITH FREE TEMPLATE)
If there's one thing that comes to mind when I think about summer, it's all the delicious in-season fruits. One of my favourites is cherries, and today I'm sharing the cutest pom project so that you can make your own pom fruits too!
The first thing you'll need is this set of pom pom makers. I used the 1 3/8" size for my cherries, and the 1 5/8" size to make the lemons and limes. The yarn I used is 100% acrylic and was purchased at Michaels. To make the lemons and limes oval, simply shape them between the palms of your hands. Then use embroidery scissors to trim around all the poms to give them an even-looking shape and remove loose threads.
Once that's finished, download this template to trace the cherry stems and leaves onto green card stock paper. Or, if you have a Silhouette CAMEO, download this SVG file. Also, prepare a hot glue gun.
Glue one or two leaves to the lemons and limes. Glue two red poms to a cherry stem, and then glue them to each other to ensure they hold well.
That's it! This simple project can be fun for the whole family.
Will you be crafting up these pom fruits for summer?
