ECO-FUN FAIR CHARITY EVENT
I have the pleasure to help "sponsor" a charity event called the Eco-Fun Fair for Terry Fox Public School in Ajax, Ontario.
Several weeks ago, a teacher and students from a grade 4 class contacted me to help with donations for their charity event. They requested monetary donations or materials (such as ribbon, leather, card stock, and so on) to help create environmentally-friendly products to sell at the fair inspired by the First Nations. All proceeds are to go to their charity of choice: Habitat for Humanity.
In the past, my hubby and I have helped support Habitat for Humanity. They are a great non-profit organization, lending bodies and working towards giving people a safe place to live by building houses, and helping to break the barriers of poverty. You can read more about them when you click on their website.
Some of the products the students will be selling at the fair will include jewellery, cards, and other paper crafts, using birch bark, paper, beads, ribbon, and leather, all in a First Nations theme.
I was quite honored to be included, and I was able to donate both a few materials and a cheque to the students to help aid them with their project.
If you're from the Durham Region area, or Toronto, I encourage you to come to the Eco-Fun Fair event, which will take place on:
Thursday, May 18th, 2017
5:30 - 7:30 pm
Terry Fox Public School
30 Kerrison Drive West
Kerrison Drive is just north of Highway 2, west of Harwood Avenue.
I will be wandering around, checking out the children's work, and of course lending support where I can.
I hope to see you there, and a big thank you if you do attend! Be sure to find me and say hello.
