DIY GOLD & GEOMETRIC CIRCLE ART
This year, I vowed to make life a little more colourful, and I'm starting with home.

Rather than buy new art, I decided to swap out a few tired pieces with DIY art. To make the one you see above, all it took was a couple of sheets of card stock paper and a craft punch. The right choices can produce a beautiful piece, suited to your tastes.
The colourful geometric paper that I used for my art piece was a sheet I pulled from THIS Heidi Swapp paper pad, and I paired it with metallic gold paper from a craft store (or you can purchase some online HERE). I used a one inch circle punch (similar), and arranged the circles on a sheet of white card stock. I used the mat from the frame to help map out my pieces. The hardest part was deciding how to incorporate the gold. At first, I tried placing them randomly, but to me it didn't look right. After playing around with it for a while, I decided to place the gold circles every fourth piece when you read it from left to right.

Then, I used glue runner to secure the circles to the backing. It's clean and quick.

That process was painless, and then I realized how crooked I arranged it all on the paper - ha! However, that can be adjusted when you tape the art to the back of the mat.

I am in love with it! What do you think?

Art doesn't have to be expensive or complicated. Sometimes I think the best pieces come from home.
