ADDING A CUSTOM LOOK TO STORE BOUGHT JOURNALS
When I found these journals in the bargain section at Michaels, I was instantly drawn to them. I'm pretty much attracted to anything that's gold or blue right now, and even though the journals were perfectly fine as they were, I wanted to show you how you can add fun touches to them for that custom look or extra personality.
Many moons ago I bought a pack of metallic gold foil shapes from HomeSense (HomeGoods in the U.S.). The bag came with an assortment of numbers, shapes, phrases, and so on (I couldn't find the exact product online anywhere, but THIS version by Heidi Swapp is a similar product).
After rummaging through the pack and choosing the ones I wanted to glue to the front of the journals, I dabbed small amounts of Martha Stewart's glittering glue to the backs before sticking them on. I chose that glue for its fine tip, which makes it easy to use on cursive text, or the "jewels" on the crown being as they are small.
Many of you know that I love projects that are simple and effortless, and this one is no exception. Sometimes I think those projects are the best! These little journals can also make cute gifts. Which one is your favourite? (I'm certainly loving the one with the crown!)
Thanks for visiting today. Happy Monday friends :)
