One of my favourite tools in my stash of craft supplies is the Recollections 1 inch/2.54 cm daisy flower punch. I have made countless cards and gift tags with it. It's a great tool to have, and today I'm showing you five different ways to personalize gift tags using one punch.

(Disclosure: I was not asked to write about this product, and I am not trying to sell it to you either!)

First, you'll need 5 plain white gift tags. I picked up the ones that I used from Michaels for $4.50 for 20. You can also purchase the punch there.

TAG 1:

  • Card stock paper in pink and green

  • Scrapbook paper in a pattern of your choice

  • Martha Stewart paper trimmer

  • Glue stick

  • Rubber stamp in your choice of word or phrase. I chose: "Thinking of You"

  • Black ink pad

  • Clear medium rhinestone

Trim the scrapbook paper to fit inside the tag and glue. Trim the pink card stock in a similar shape and glue inside the rectangle, leaving about a half inch border. Stamp the greeting on top. Next, punch out two flowers, one on the patterned paper, and the other on green card stock. Glue the latter in the top left corner of message stamp. Glue the patterned flower on top of that, slightly rotated. Finally, glue a clear rhinestone in the centre of the flower.

TAG 2:

  • Scrapbook paper in three complimentary patterns

  • Glue stick

  • Four medium clear rhinestones

Punch out 16 flowers - 8 in one pattern for the bottom layer, and four in the remaining two patterns for the top layer. Glue the bottom flowers down first. Then, glue the top flowers, alternating them. Finally, glue a rhinestone in the centre of four same flowers.

TAG 3:

  • Washi tape in one, solid colour

  • Scissors

  • Scrapbook paper in a pattern of your choice

  • Glue stick

  • Six medium clear rhinestones

Cut out three lengths of tape and stick them on the tag parallel to each other. Cut off remaining edges. Glue two flowers on each piece of tape. Finally, glue a rhinestone to each flower's centre.

TAG 4:

  • Card stock paper in three complimentary colours (in this case, I chose papers with a thick texture)

  • Glue stick

  • Scissors

  • Two large clear rhinestones

Punch out approximately 5 flowers on each coloured paper. Randomly glue flowers of two colours on the tag. Do not overlap them. Then, glue the flowers of the third colour on top. Trim off petals that overlap beyond the edges of the tag. Finally, glue the rhinestones to the two top full flowers.

TAG 5:

  • Letter stickers

  • Card stock paper in pink and green

  • Scrapbook paper in a pattern of your choice

  • Glue stick

  • Small rhinestones in pink and green

Adhere the message, such as "hi", to the centre of the tag. Glue the pink and green flowers around the message, randomly. Glue the scrapbook paper flowers on top, slightly rotated. Finally, glue the rhinestones in the centre of the flowers - pink with pink, and green with green.

Now for the fun news! One lucky winner can take home these tags. I'm giving them away for FREE. All you have to do is leave a comment in this post (one comment per person please). You must be from Canada or the United States. A name will be selected at random when the contest closes on Friday, September 25th at 11:59 pm.

Thank you for entering!

Have a wonderful weekend my friends.
