HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREETING CARDS
Birthdays are fun celebrations that require that personal touch when choosing the right gift and card for the receiver. In my mind, there is nothing more special than a handmade gift. I personally have always enjoyed making and giving cards. Card making is a fun project that doesn't have to take you a lot of time given the right supplies. Today, I'll be showing you how to create these easy birthday greetings, and enough for you to put some aside for future celebrations.
These 3 cards were super fun to make and literally took no time at all (about 5 - 6 minutes per card). I have books of different scrapbook paper, and the fun in it for me is mixing and matching patterns. I also have a large stack of coloured paper. Once I found colours that complimented each other, a little glue and craft punch finished up the job.
TOOLS & MATERIALS:
White, yellow, blue and pink card stock (such as Recollections)
Scrapbook paper in three patterns of choice
Elmer's glue stick
Mini rhinestones in blue, clear, and pink
DIRECTIONS: The first thing I did was match patterns. You can purchase scrapbook paper in single or book form from craft supply stores. Michaels is usually my go-to store for crafts, and that's where I purchased all of these supplies from. Afterwards, I measured where I should punch out my greeting. The cards fit into envelopes that are approximately 13 x 9 cm, so my centre point was at 6.5 cm . After I punched out the greeting, I used the glue stick to glue the coloured paper to white paper, then glued the patterned paper on top. I then trimmed the card down using the paper trimmer. For the finishing touch, I glued a rhinestone in the centre of the star in the greeting with white glue.
The cards are one-sided, just to keep this project simple, with white on the back. They fit nicely inside the envelopes, which I bought as a pack of 50 from DeSerres. They sell different sizes of envelopes if you are into card making too.
Thanks for taking a look at this simple DIY birthday project. I hope I have inspired you to create that personal greeting for someone special in your life.
