On the metallic paper, cut a small square of about 1/2" x 1/2", then cut two diagonals into each other to create the "metal cap" of the ornament. Cut a small length of twine. Tape it to the back of the silver "cap", then tape the whole of it to the front of the envelope.

6. Add more tape to the back of the circle and attach it to the front, slightly over the "cap" to complete the ornament.

Total project time: about 45 minutes for 6 envelopes.

SHOP HOLIDAY PAPER & BAKER'S TWINE:

*To view the full supply list, open the post in Desktop view.*

FRIDAY FAVOURITES #70

As you can see, I'm well into the Christmas projects. Case in point, today you'll see how easy it is to create pretty little gift tags with images of birds on them with this program. You don't have to be an artist; you just have to know your way around the site because there you will find lots of free clip art to use towards your projects. This is just one little demonstration, but once you get the basics down, the rest is pretty simple. This step is important before you get too far into your project because without an account, you will not be able to export your work.

Once you log in, you want create a design using a custom canvas (here you can use the default size or create your own canvas size. For the purposes of this demonstration, I kept mine at the default at 2000 x 2000 pixels).

I made four different tags, so I started with the base by creating four different coloured circles. To make them, click the butterfly icon on the left-hand toolbar to open the "Graphics" tab. You'll find the circle shape under "Geometric". Double-click it or drag it to the canvas, and once you size it, you can change the colour of the shape under the pop-up menu. Do this for all four of them.

Next click on the snowflake tab, a few down from the butterfly tab. Here you will open all the clip art themes available to you. I chose "Winterland", then "Aviary". Drag and drop a bird image into the circles you created. You can adjust the size here as well as the colour, but I left my birds white for a silhouetted "winter" look.

Once you're satisfied, export your work by clicking on the "Export" tab at the top left.

Then open your work in a photo viewer and print!

Easy, right?
