This is a fun project as well as a fun way to give a little candy treat to kids for Easter in the shape of a bloomed flower. The Easter egg becomes the centre of the flower! Fill it with candy and chocolates and you have an instant cute holiday gift.
TOOLS & MATERIALS:
Silhouette CAMEOSilhouette cutting mat
Fillable Easter eggs (from a dollar store!)
RulerTextured card stockMini hot glue gunPaper strawsCandy and chocolates (for filling)
DIRECTIONS (FOR ONE CANDY FLOWER):
1. Download the free SVG attached HERE (or use the if you don't own a CAMEO to trace and cut out the shapes). I used textured card stock in bright colours, but any card stock will do. Place a sheet on the cutting mat and cut the first flower (note: I created my shape to fit an egg diameter of about 1 1/2". Make sure to measure the diameter opening of your eggs, then adjust the flower if need be in the program). Insert green paper for the leaves.
2. Apply hot glue around the circle's rim and then fit the elongated part of the egg snug inside. Once dry, peel off any glue that got on the egg.
3. Apply a dab of hot glue to one end of a paper straw. Attach it to the flower. Hot glue the leaves to the "stem".
4. Open the egg and fill it with treats!
Total project time: about 30 minutes for four candy flower treats.
